NASHVILLE, Tenn. \u2013 March 2, 2015 \u2013 Premise Health<\/a>\u2122 a leading worksite health and patient engagement company dedicated to improving the cost and quality of employee health care, announced today that Beth Ratliff, senior vice president, has been selected as a member of the 2015 class of the Nashville Health Care Council Fellows<\/a>. Now in its third year, the Council Fellows initiative engages industry leaders in clearly defining health care\u2019s greatest challenges and exploring business strategies to navigate the complex issues facing the U.S. health care system.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is an honor to be selected as a 2015 Council Fellow amongst such a talented group of individuals,\u201d said Ms. Ratliff. \u201cThe 2015 Fellows class is made up of industry executives with diverse experiences and backgrounds; I look forward to contributing to the exciting discussions that are sure to take place.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 2015 class, selected by the Council Fellows Advisory Committee led by former U.S. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, M.D., includes 36 of the nation\u2019s top health care executives<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe 2015 Fellows include some of the industry\u2019s best and brightest leaders with experience and industry focus spanning all sectors of health care,\u201d said Dr. Frist<\/strong>, who co-directs the initiative with Larry Van Horn<\/strong>, a leading expert in health care management and economics and professor at Vanderbilt University\u2019s Owen Graduate School of Management. \u201cThese individuals have a challenging task ahead, and I look forward to the meaningful discussion and debate that will come from our rigorous curriculum.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Fellows program, launched by the Council in 2013, is the next step in continuing Nashville\u2019s health care legacy of leadership, innovation and entrepreneurship. The initiative engages key professionals to better implement business strategies, create value, drive industry growth and effect change on local, national and international levels.<\/p>\n

\u201cOver the past four decades, Nashville has become the nation\u2019s health care industry capital. An initiative like this is a natural fit for Nashville, and we\u2019re greatly encouraged by the innovative ideas and strong connections developing through Fellows,\u201d said Caroline Young, Council president.<\/p>\n

\u201cNashville is uniquely positioned to offer this one-of-a-kind curriculum,\u201d said Van Horn<\/strong>. \u201cIn just a short time, Fellows alumni are excelling within their own organizations and creating new opportunities for Nashville.\u201d<\/p>\n

The eight daylong sessions, held between January and May, will utilize the expertise of industry leaders in Nashville, as well as nationally known figures and leading academic institutions. The integrated curriculum will include topics such as health care policy reform, shifts in reimbursement systems, disruptive innovation in technology, and advancements in personalized medicine, consumerism, integrated delivery networks, population health management and globalization.<\/p>\n

Executive skills development and a unique immersion component are also hallmarks of the specially designed curriculum. The sessions will be hosted at Vanderbilt University\u2019s Owen Graduate School of Management.<\/p>\n

The Council Fellows program is presented in partnership with BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee<\/a>, Community Health Systems<\/a>, HCA<\/a>, Healthways<\/a>, LifePoint Hospitals<\/a> and Vanderbilt University\u2019s Owen Graduate School of Management<\/a>.<\/p>\n
